Quick answer: ChatGPT's own guest mode now works without an account, but it caps you at 10 messages every 5 hours before dropping to a smaller model, and OpenAI began showing ads to signed-in free users in February 2026. This page skips both: a simple daily allowance instead of a live countdown, no account, and no ads.
Ask instead of searching
A search hands you ten pages and leaves the reading to you. Asking hands you the answer in a sentence, and lets you say what was wrong with it. For anything you would otherwise open six tabs to piece together, the second route is usually the shorter one.
The window is open whenever you are, at seven in the morning or well after midnight, and it does not mind what the question is: a definition, an email you have been putting off, a paragraph that needs tightening, or something you were simply curious about. Answers come back in ordinary conversational English rather than a page of links, so you can read one and move on.

Paste a sentence and ask what reads badly, or ask for the same thing said more warmly. For a whole passage, the grammar checker is quicker.

Not every question is work. Ask about something you are curious about and keep the thread going for as long as it stays useful.
Captions, titles and jokes
Ask for ten options rather than one. Picking from a list is faster than waiting on a perfect first attempt.
